| Backstage Academy of Performing Arts |
| |

- Tony Daly- 091 590706
Performing Arts Training for 8-18 year olds.
Backstage-Ireland has based one of it’s Performing Arts Academies at Ratoath Community Centre. This is it’s third year operating in Ratoath and it runs on Saturdays from 3pm-6pm. A new term begins in September and there are a small number of places available for new students. Further information is available from Ratoath Community Centre or by calling Backstage-Ireland on 091-590706.
During the three-hour session each week, students undertake three workshops ranging from drama, mime, circus skills and musical theatre to various types of dance from jazz to street.
The teaching staff at Backstage are a unique combination of teacher and theatre/television professional and part of the attraction for students is that the teachers they work with are already known to them by their professional theatre/television/film work. These teachers specialise in working with young people and they are amongst the most highly qualified in the country in their respective fields.
Backstage does not hold auditions as they see their work as teaching those who are interested rather than having a selecting process. Those interested are invited to an ‘Open Day’ so that they can get a first hand experience of the work before making a decision. Entry to ‘Open Day’s are free of charge. For information on the next ‘Open Day’ call Backstage.
Backstage students are sent to suitable auditions as required and the company’s national profile means that it has connections with the major production companies.

Ratoath Garden Club was setup in the village over 17 years ago. The club aims to promote interest in gardening throughout the Ratoath, Ashbourne and Dunshlaughlin Area. The meetings are held in the Ratoath Community Centre on the last Monday of every month from September to May, sometime this may change but notices are put up locally and on the parish bulletin. New members are always welcome
The meetings are designed to be informative and at each monthly meeting a guest speaker attends the meetings carrying out lectures or demonstrations on specific topics.
